New Song - Battle Belongs

This Sunday is Palm Sunday and we’re introducing a new song, Battle Belongs by Phil Wickham. The Good News of the Gospel found in the Easter story is that Jesus is victorious and we don’t fight from a position of defense or fear because Jesus is already victorious. We celebrate the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, because it was the victorious march leading up to the victory over sin and death He would have on the cross. As the people cried “Hosanna” (save us), Jesus did exactly that when He brought the values of His kingdom into the city and into the temple that day, casting out corruption, loving the outcasts and healing the sick.

So this Palm Sunday remember the battle already belongs to Jesus, and with confidence we join Him in the fight without fear. Join us this Sunday in worship as we sing this new chorus together:

So when I fight I’ll fight on my knees
With my hands lifted high
Oh God the battle belongs to You
And every fear I lay at Your feet
I’ll sing through the night
Oh God the battle belongs to You
